A stroke changes a family's life in one day. One week the person is fine, the next week they cannot move one side of their body, and you are standing in a hospital corridor being told to "arrange physiotherapy after discharge" with no idea where to start. This page is written for exactly that moment.

Here is the most important thing we can tell you: the brain relearns movement fastest in the first weeks and months after a stroke. Every week without structured rehab in that window is recovery the patient may not get back. So if you are reading this soon after discharge, you are doing the right thing at the right time.

And no, you do not need to lift your father into a car three times a week. For stroke and paralysis patients, home is usually the better place to do this work. The patient is calmer, the family can watch and learn, and we train movements exactly where they will be used, their own bed, their own bathroom door, their own stairs.

"After a stroke, the brain is rewiring itself whether we guide it or not. Physiotherapy makes sure it rewires in the right direction."

Who We Treat at Home

Our home neuro physiotherapy visits across Noida cover:

  • Stroke recovery, weakness or paralysis of one side of the body (hemiplegia)
  • Paralysis from other causes, after the treating doctor has cleared rehab
  • Bedridden patients who need to safely regain sitting, standing, and walking
  • Parkinson's disease, for walking, balance, and freezing episodes
  • Facial palsy (Bell's palsy), including facial muscle retraining
  • Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) recovery after hospital discharge
  • Post neurosurgery rehabilitation, once the surgeon clears exercise
  • Elderly patients with severe balance problems or repeated falls

If the case needs equipment we cannot bring home, or medical supervision beyond physiotherapy, we say so at the first assessment and help you plan the right setup instead of continuing visits that will not deliver.

Why Starting Early Matters So Much

The medical word is neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to reroute signals around the damaged area. In plain language: healthy parts of the brain can learn to do the job of the damaged part, but only if the body keeps sending them the right signals through guided, repeated movement.

This ability is strongest in the first 3 to 6 months after a stroke. That is why we tell every family the same thing: do not wait for the patient to "get a little stronger first". Waiting is the mistake. Even a patient who cannot sit up yet has work we can start on day one, positioning to prevent stiffness and bedsores, assisted movements to keep joints free, and breathing work.

There is a second reason to start early. Untreated paralysis creates its own new problems, frozen shoulders on the weak side, tight calves that make standing impossible later, and chest infections from lying flat. Most of these are preventable with the right routine, and preventing them is far easier than treating them.

What a Home Session Looks Like

01
Visit 01

Assessment at Home

We review the discharge summary and scans, test strength, sensation, balance, and what the patient can currently do, and check the home itself, bed height, bathroom access, stairs. You get an honest picture of where things stand and a written plan.

02
Weeks 1–3

Foundation Work

Bed mobility, safe sitting, weight shifting, and retraining the weak side instead of letting the strong side do everything. The family learns positioning and a short daily routine for the hours we are not there.

03
Weeks 3–8

Standing & Walking

Supported standing, balance work, and the first steps, practised at the patient's own doorways and corridors. Hand and arm retraining runs in parallel, because the arm usually recovers slower than the leg and needs its own focused work.

04
Month 2+

Independence

Stairs, bathroom transfers, dressing, eating with the affected hand where possible. Visits reduce as the patient and family take over more of the routine. The goal is a person who needs us less every month, not a permanent client.

"Families often ask me if recovery is still possible after the hospital said 'now only physiotherapy will help'. That sentence is not a dead end. It means the medical emergency is over and the rebuilding phase has started. How much comes back depends on the stroke, but how much of the possible recovery you actually get depends on the rehab."

One honest note on cost, because stroke rehab runs for months and families need to plan. Most stroke patients need 4 to 5 sessions a week in the early phase, tapering down as independence grows. We would rather you know that on day one than discover it in month two. The free teleconsult exists exactly so you can ask us what a realistic plan and budget looks like for your case before committing to anything.

What Recovery Honestly Looks Like

We will not promise you a timeline no one can guarantee. But after years of neuro cases, the broad pattern is consistent enough to share:

  • Weeks 1 to 4: better bed mobility, safer sitting, the weak side starts responding to guided movement
  • Weeks 4 to 8: supported standing for most patients, first steps for many, visible gains that keep the family motivated
  • Months 2 to 4: walking with support or independently for a large share of patients, hand function improving more slowly
  • Months 4 to 6: work on speed, stairs, outdoor walking, and fine hand control

Some patients move faster than this, some slower, and the size and location of the stroke sets the ceiling. What we control is consistency, correct technique, and catching complications early. What the family controls is the daily routine between visits. Recovery is genuinely a joint project, and we coach you for your part of it.

Areas We Cover for Home Visits

Home neuro physiotherapy is available in Sector 50, 51, 52, 53, 55, 56, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 71, and 72. Living just outside these sectors? Call us, we can usually work something out or connect you to someone good near you.

Patients who can travel are always welcome at the clinic too, E-132, E-Block, Sector 52, where the full equipment setup is available at the lower clinic rate. Many families do a mix, home visits in the early phase, clinic visits once the patient can travel comfortably. More on our general home service is on the home physiotherapy page.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions families across Noida ask us most often after a stroke or paralysis diagnosis.

1. How much does stroke physiotherapy at home cost in Noida?+
A home neuro physiotherapy session with Dynamics Mend is ₹1,200 to ₹1,800, including the assessment on the first visit, with no travel charge in our covered sectors. Weekly plans of 5 or more visits get a lower per-visit rate, quoted after the first assessment. Clinic sessions are ₹700 to ₹1,000 if the patient can travel.
2. How soon after a stroke should physiotherapy start?+
As soon as the treating doctor says the patient is medically stable, which is often within days. The first 3 to 6 months are when the brain relearns movement fastest, so early, consistent rehab in this window makes the biggest difference. If discharge has already happened, the best time to start is now.
3. My father is bedridden. Can physiotherapy still help him?+
Yes, and bedridden patients are the ones who need it most urgently. We start with positioning to prevent bedsores and stiffness, assisted joint movement, breathing exercises, and step-by-step work toward sitting up. Many patients who start bedridden progress to sitting, standing, and walking. We assess honestly and tell you what is realistic in his case.
4. Paralysis ka ilaj physiotherapy se ho sakta hai?+
Physiotherapy paralysis ke baad recovery ka sabse important part hai. Damaged nerves ya brain area ke around, body ko dobara movement sikhaya jata hai, guided exercises se. Kitna improvement aayega ye case pe depend karta hai, lekin bina physiotherapy ke jo recovery possible hai wo bhi nahi milti. Pehle free teleconsult me hum aapke case ke baare me seedhi baat karte hain.
5. How many sessions a week does a stroke patient need?+
In the early phase, typically 4 to 5 sessions a week, because frequency is what drives the brain's relearning. As the patient gains independence, this tapers to 3, then 2 sessions a week, with the family running a daily home routine we teach you. The first assessment gives you a clear week-by-week plan.
6. Who will actually come home for the sessions?+
A qualified physiotherapist from our Sector 52 team, with neuro rehabilitation experience, not a rotating freelancer from an app. The same therapist stays with your case so progress carries over between visits, and every plan is reviewed by founder Dr. Purti Shukla, MPT (Sports).
7. What equipment do you bring for home sessions?+
The therapist brings what your plan needs, portable electrotherapy where indicated, resistance bands, balance tools, and mobility aids for practice. Most neuro rehab at home uses guided movement and the patient's own environment, the bed, chairs, walls, and stairs, which is exactly what the patient needs to master anyway.
8. The hospital said "ab sirf physiotherapy hi hai". Is recovery still possible?+
That sentence means the emergency treatment is finished and the rebuilding phase has started, it is not a verdict that nothing more can improve. Most stroke patients continue gaining function for months with structured rehab. What we cannot promise is a specific outcome, so we assess first and tell you plainly what looks achievable in your case.
